The Time Horizon

Every calculation, on one instrument.

A start, a span, a destination. Whether you add time, measure a duration, total a shift, or project a date, TimeCalculator.ai reads it on the same calibrated rail — from where you begin to where you land.

One platform for every time calculation

Personal time math, dates, duration, work hours, business days, and age — built as a single, precise system rather than a folder of one-off pages.

Flagship tool

Dates belong on the same instrument.

Dates carry nearly the same demand as time itself, so the Date Calculator is a flagship — not a footnote. Add and subtract across the calendar with correct month and leap-year handling.

  • Add days, weeks, months, or years to a date
  • Subtract to find a past date or deadline
  • Count days, weeks, and months between dates
  • See the day of week and plan schedules

The commercial wedge

Work hours without spreadsheet math.

Turn clock-in and clock-out times into clean, payroll-ready totals — with breaks handled correctly and overnight shifts that cross midnight.

  • Clock-in, clock-out, and break to paid hours
  • Decimal hours for payroll and invoicing
  • Overnight shifts that cross midnight
  • Weekly timesheets and exports — on the roadmap

How it works

Understand the math behind every result

Short, useful explanations — so you can trust the answer and learn the method.

How to use a time calculator

Enter a start time, choose to add or subtract, and provide hours, minutes, and seconds. The result shows the final clock time and whether it rolls into the next or previous day.

How time duration is calculated

Duration is the end time minus the start time. When the end is earlier, the calculator adds 24 hours so overnight spans — like 11:00 PM to 2:30 AM — are measured correctly.

How to add or subtract time

Times are converted to total seconds, the change is applied, and the result is normalized back to a 12- or 24-hour clock, tracking any day rollover automatically.

How work hours are calculated

Paid time equals clock-out minus clock-in, minus any unpaid break. The result is shown in clock format and as decimal hours, which is what payroll systems expect.

Convert minutes to decimal hours

Divide minutes by 60. So 30 minutes is 0.5 hours and 45 minutes is 0.75 hours. The work-hour tools do this for you on every result.

Time calculator vs date calculator

A time calculator works within the clock — hours, minutes, seconds. A date calculator works across the calendar — days, weeks, months, and years. TimeCalculator.ai does both.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

A time calculator performs arithmetic on time and dates — adding or subtracting hours and minutes, measuring the duration between two times, totaling work hours, and calculating future or past dates. TimeCalculator.ai combines these into one precise workspace.
Enter a start time and an end time in Duration or Hours mode. The calculator subtracts the start from the end and returns the result in hours and minutes, decimal hours, total minutes, and total seconds.
Use Add / Subtract mode. Enter the start time, keep “Add time” selected, and type the hours, minutes, and seconds to add. For example, 8:30 AM + 7 hours 45 minutes = 4:15 PM.
Yes. When an end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator can treat it as the next day. An overnight shift from 11:00 PM to 2:30 AM is correctly measured as 3 hours 30 minutes.
A time calculator handles the clock — hours, minutes, and seconds within a day. A date calculator handles the calendar — days, weeks, months, and years across dates. TimeCalculator.ai includes both as flagship tools.
Yes. In Work Hours mode, enter clock-in and clock-out times and the unpaid break length in minutes. The calculator subtracts the break and returns total paid hours in both clock and decimal formats.
Divide the minutes by 60. For example, 15 minutes is 0.25 hours, 30 minutes is 0.5 hours, and 45 minutes is 0.75 hours. Every duration and work-hour result shows decimal hours automatically.
The work-hour and time-card tools produce decimal-hour totals that payroll systems use. They’re built for everyday accuracy; always confirm totals against your employer’s official timekeeping policy.
A time card calculator converts clock-in and clock-out times — minus breaks — into total worked hours for a shift, day, or week. It’s the foundation of timesheet and payroll math.
A timesheet calculator totals multiple shifts across a week or pay period into combined hours. It builds on the time card calculator and is on the TimeCalculator.ai roadmap.
Open the Date Calculator’s Days Between mode and pick two dates. You’ll get the total days, a weeks-and-days view, and a calendar breakdown in years, months, and days.
No. All calculations run locally in your browser. TimeCalculator.ai does not need your personal data to calculate results, and your inputs are never sent to a server.
A premium mobile app is in design, built on the same calculation engine — with history, favorites, widgets, and offline support. It isn’t available to download yet; the website is the place to use the tools today.
Yes. Every calculator on the website is free to use, with no account required. Future Pro features in the planned mobile app — like history, exports, and widgets — may be paid, but the core web calculators stay free.
