Flagship tool
Dates carry nearly the same demand as time itself, so the Date Calculator is a flagship — not a footnote. Add and subtract across the calendar with correct month and leap-year handling.
The commercial wedge
Turn clock-in and clock-out times into clean, payroll-ready totals — with breaks handled correctly and overnight shifts that cross midnight.
How it works
Short, useful explanations — so you can trust the answer and learn the method.
Enter a start time, choose to add or subtract, and provide hours, minutes, and seconds. The result shows the final clock time and whether it rolls into the next or previous day.
Duration is the end time minus the start time. When the end is earlier, the calculator adds 24 hours so overnight spans — like 11:00 PM to 2:30 AM — are measured correctly.
Times are converted to total seconds, the change is applied, and the result is normalized back to a 12- or 24-hour clock, tracking any day rollover automatically.
Paid time equals clock-out minus clock-in, minus any unpaid break. The result is shown in clock format and as decimal hours, which is what payroll systems expect.
Divide minutes by 60. So 30 minutes is 0.5 hours and 45 minutes is 0.75 hours. The work-hour tools do this for you on every result.
A time calculator works within the clock — hours, minutes, seconds. A date calculator works across the calendar — days, weeks, months, and years. TimeCalculator.ai does both.
